ATTENDANCE POLICY
Our school schedule for 2023-2024 is as follows:
8:15 a.m. Students may come on campus for breakfast.
8:30 a.m. First bell rings Students may proceed to their classroom.
8:45 a.m. Tardy bell rings Students are required to be in their classrooms ready to learn.
Students are not allowed on campus before 8:15 a.m. There is no supervision provided at the school until 8:15 a.m. therefore, we cannot ensure the safety of students until 8:15 a.m. If your child needs to be on campus early morning care is available through the Champions program. The sidewalk gate will be closed at 8:45. Students who arrive after the tardy bell rings, will need to sign-in at the office.
Students may be excused when the absence is due to personal illness/death in the student’s immediate family and to observe recognized holidays of the student’s religious faith. A written excuse is required that includes the date, reason for the absence and parent signature for each absence. The note should not be written in the planner.
It is Orange County Public Schools’ policy that if a student has accumulated excused absences, it will be necessary for the parent to provide a doctor’s excuse for any further absences to be excused. If a doctor’s excuse is not provided for the absence, it will be recorded as unexcused. Once a student accumulates 5 unexcused absences within a calendar month or 10 unexcused absences within 90 days, the school must report the student to the school social worker and/or the Early Truancy Intervention team which consists of the Principal, Social Worker, Teacher and Registrar.
POLITICA DE ASISTENCIA
Nuestro horario escolar para 2017-2018 es el siguiente:
8:15 a.m. Los estudiantes pueden ingresar a la escuela para tomar el desayuno.
8:40 a.m. Al primer sonido del timbre los estudiantes pueden avanzar a sus salones de clase.
8:45 a.m. Al segundo sonido del timbre los estudiantes deben estar en sus salones de clase listos para aprender.P
No se permite a los estudiantes en la escuela antes de las 8:15a.m. Sólo a partir de las 8:15a.m. podemos garantizar la seguridad a los estudiantes. Si su niño(a) necesita estar en la escuela antes de las 8:15 a.m. su cuidado está disponible a través del programa Champions. La puerta de la acera estará cerrada a las 8:45 a.m. Los estudiantes que lleguen después de las 8:45 a.m. deberán registrarse en la oficina.
Los estudiantes pueden ser excusados cuando la ausencia es debida a una enfermedad/muerte de un familiar inmediato al estudiaante y en reconocidas fiestas de fé religiosa del estudiante. Se requiere una excusa escrita que contenga la fecha, motivo de la ausencia y firma del padre, una para cada ausencia. La nota no debe ser escrita en la agenda.
Es política de las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Orange que si un estudiante ha acumulado ausencias excusadas será necesario que el padre presente una excusa del médico para ser excusado en futuras ausencias. Si no se presenta excusa médica la ausencia será registrada como injustificada. Una vez que un estudiante acumula 5 ausencias injustificadas dentro de un mes calendario ó 10 ausencias injustificadas dentro de 90 dias, la escuela debe reportar al estudiante al trabajador social de la escuela y/o al equipo de Intervención Temprana de ausentismo que consiste en el Principal, el Trabajador Social, el Maestro y la Registradora.
